We produce an ICS format calendar feed that you can include on your personal Google calendar, that displays the University weeks.

It displays the 'University week number' (UW), if appropriate the corresponding 'Teaching week number' (TW, shown as SxWy for Semester x Week y, where Semester = A for Autumn or S for spring), and a label to indicate what the week is. The label used to be a discrete little number graphic which you hovered over to get the text, and this is still in the feed, but since UOS imposed the new 'simple theme' it just shows the text - if you do get a little graphic please tell me which browser you are using!

To use this feed 'add a calendar from URL', using address https://www.dcs.shef.ac.uk/intranet/admin/public/semweekscal/univweeks.ics

Note: google feeds are notorious for being slow to update changes (sometimes many days) so if I need to update any errors and you are already subscribed, please be patient. If you are adding the calendar for the first time you will get the latest version.

The university year has a complex structure, which occasionally changes each session. The current structure is:

UW1	summer, summer, intro week
UW4	Autumn semester teaching week 1..12,
UW16	christmas hols week 1..4
UW20	Autumn semester exam week 1..3
UW23	Spring semester teaching week 1 .. N
??	Easter break week 1..3
??	Spring semester teaching week N+1..12
UW35	Spring semester exam week 1..3
UW38	Summer week 1..8
UW46	Summer resits week 1..3
UW49	summer, summer

Note that spring semester parts 1 and 2 move based on when easter is, but always add up to 12 weeks.

Because of this complexity only a few (typically 2, i.e. the feed covers 3 years total) future sessions are supported each year, and may be (or become) incorrect - report to your lecurer/supervisor so they can let us know.
