Lewin has several laptops in a loanable cabinet that COM students (and staff) use their UCard (and Library PIN) to get a laptop to be borrowed from 8 am to 6 pm Mon-Fri (times may differ).
The laptops are Dell Latitude 5510.
With the following specifications.

- The support team will have admin rights on the laptops, students will not. - Academics are only allowed to ask for additional software to be installed, only IF IT Services Managed Desktop team will NOT install it.
- There are no roaming profiles, you will not get the standard roaming profile that you use on the normal university desktop around campus. Once logged off, your profile will not be saved to the central server.
- Saving your files, you will NOT have folder redirection (this is where your Documents, Music, Pictures and etc. are automatically redirected/saved to your U: drive).
- when saving any files, please save them into your U: drive.
- Software Centre: you will receive all the software that is available on University Desktop around campus, but may not in installed, you will need to install the software you require.
- Laptops will not automatically shut down, please Shutdown the laptop before putting them back in the cabinet. (Start→power→shutdown).
- There are late return and damage/lost fees.
