If you are wanting to map your DCS home filestore or other network shares on your windows machine or even your ITS filestore, do the following.
If you at home, please connect to VPN before doing anything, otherwise continue with the following if on campus.

• Click Start, type This PC, press Enter.
• Click Map network drive in the top menu bar.
• - For Windows 11, click the 3 dots in the menu bar to the right, and click Map network drive.

Few Options to choose what to map to:

• Select a Drive Letter (H for DCS Home Filestore, X for COM Share, I for deptstore-intranet, etc. but it is upto you, and you cannot use the same letter for multiple network shares)
• example #1 - DCS Home Filestore, type \\staffstore.dcs.shef.ac.uk\dcsusername (change dcsusername to your actual DCS username for example \\staffstore.dcs.shef.ac.uk\ac1pdl OR \\staffstore.dcs.shef.ac.uk\pierre for oldies) - (Now follow the step DCS account)
• example #2 - Intranet on Deptstore, type \\deptstore.dcs.shef.ac.uk\intranet - (Now follow the step DCS account)
• example #3 - wwwdata on Deptstore, type \\deptstore.dcs.shef.ac.uk\wwwdata - (Now follow the step DCS account)
• example #4 - X COM Drive, type \\uosfstore.shef.ac.uk\shared\COM_Share - (Now follow the step ITS account)
• example #5 - U Drive, you will first need to know where your filestore is located, follow the next few steps…

1. Go to https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/it-services/password
2. Login with your ITS (MUSE) username and password.
3. Select View University Storage information
4. Under Server, you will be able to see part of your file path for your U Drive. for example stfdata07
5. You will also need to add the first two characters of your username, which is AC. (AC1pdl)
6. Once you have got the first two characters of your username, you should add these to the file path,
7. you also need to add home to the file path.
8. For example \\stfdata07\home\AC\ac1pdl (if accessing from home on VPN, it will be \\stfdata07.shefuniad.shef.ac.uk\home\AC\ac1pdl)
9. Now follow the step ITS account.

Next Step:
DCS Account -

• Make sure the reconnect at sign-in and Connect using different credentials are ticked. Click Finish.
• type comsciad\username (e.g comsciad\ac1pdl, or comsciad\pierre for oldies) into the username box, then your DCS password, tick the Remember my credentials (if its there), Click OK

OR
ITS Account -

• Make sure the reconnect at sign-in and Connect using different credentials are ticked. Click Finish.
• type shefuniad\username (e.g shefuniad\ac1pdl) into the username box, then your ITS password, tick the Remember my credentials (if its there), Click OK

If connected via VPN, reconnecting can be hit and miss. Always connect to VPN before opening File Explorer or accessing the network shares.
